Am I the Problem?

I have heard so many times “God will sort this out. I did nothing wrong!” And trust me I have said this myself on many occasions. Sometimes we are right, but sometimes we are blinded by our own actions in whatever situation we are going through.
Every single one of us goes through times where we struggle with a family relationships, friendships, churches, work issues, marriages or even businesses. We come up against people who hurt us, abuse us, use us, gossip, lie, misunderstand or simply couldn’t care less about us.
I know, I get it! It’s so easy to point the finger at their behaviours and never look at our own and sometimes when we do search ourselves, we don’t look hard enough.
We justify that we are good people and don’t deserve the treatment we are getting and sometimes we are right, we simply did nothing, other times we are stubborn and choose not to see our role.
Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. 24 See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24
We read so many times in bible where people fall short of the glory of God. We read of people like David who made mistake after mistake and yet he did one thing many of us refuse to do. He owned his part in every situation and repented. And because of that God blesses him over and over, he fixed the situations David found himself in. He didn’t do it David’s way but His own way.
Sometimes we find ourselves in situations that God is asking us to acknowledge our part in them and so many times they are patterns we have repeated before. Maybe you can’t seem to keep true friends, maybe you’re always having issues in the workplace, maybe you can’t stop fighting in your marriage, maybe you see a constant trickle of people coming and going from your church, your workplace or business. Whatever it is, could it be that God is trying to tell you something? Make you search yourself for the answers?
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. -James 1:5
I know it’s hard to swallow the fact that we may be the very problem in whatever thing we face right now, but maybe, just maybe it is the problem within ourselves we need to acknowledge that will set us free. Do we really want to live out our life purpose with the same roadblocks stopping us from moving forward? I know I don’t! I want to walk confidently, mirror Jesus and shine his light. I want to wake up in the morning with a light heart, with a softness and not the heavy weight of hurt and anxiety about the situations I face. He could be asking you to forgive someone, apologise to someone, make the effort with someone, pray for someone or do an act of kindness that would shock someone!
I don’t know your situation but I know the One who does. Talk to him, seek His council and hear what He has to say. Don’t bury your head in the sand and pretend a moment longer that the situation doesn’t exist. And yes, God has this and maybe you did do nothing wrong. In that situation my friend, just pray it is a powerful thing and our God is just. But for some of you, maybe God placed it in my heart to write this because you were the one that needed to read this...
Bless ya!
